Untangled chain

This is a handy tip for crocheting a long chain that you will be joining to crochet in-the-round.

Step1

Make your slip knot and chain 6

Remove your hook, holding the loop with one hand.

Carefully bend the chain so that the beginning chain is in front of (closest to you) the loop.

Reinsert hook thru the beginning chain and then back thru the loop.

Slide the beginning chain slightly down the hook shaft and continue making your chain. It will now remain untangled and ready for the slip stitch join .
