Tunisian charts are written as a group of squares with symbols, each representing one stitch.

Key points

The foundation row- one forward and one return pass- is not shown on the chart, but must be made before beginning the pattern.

The stitch key and any additional special instructions are at the bottom of the chart.

Forward passes are read and crocheted from right to left.

Return passes are read and crocheted from left to right.

Edge stitches are not shown on the chart, but must be presumed.
