Working in the Round
This is a great technique for making hats, bags or jumpers without a seam.
Materials
1. a double- ended hook
2. either two balls of wool or one ball with a strand from the centre and one from the outside.
Method
Step1
Create a foundation row and join.
Step 2
Begin round 1, putting as many stitches onto your hook as possible, using one strand of wool ( from one ball or one strand from the centre).
Step 3
When full, turn the work so that you can use the opposite end of the hook. Using ball 2 ( or the second strand of one ball) begin your return pass as normal- pull thru 1, then pull thru 2. Leave two loops on the hook. ( this is for stability whilst continuing your work).
Step 4
Turn the work again so that you can continue your forward pass. It is important that you make sure to use the correct ball or strand of wool that is for the forward pass.
Step 5
Once your hook is full, turn the work and, using the second ball or strand, continue with your return pass, pulling thru 2. Repeat this process until your desired length is reached.
